Alexander Wang Rockie Bag from Shopbop
Spring is in the air, I can feel it. Some of you are thinking - spring is already here! Well, let me tell you that here in Toronto, Canada, spring is still but a hope and a dream. When I woke up this morning I was over
the moon when IPhone told me it was going to be 6 degrees and sunny. I've spent
my winter hibernating and dreaming of warmer temperatures. Not only so I can
burn my Canada Goose parka but I’m just so sick of wearing layers of black and
grey (this coming from a grey addict).
I've had my eye on the Alexander Wang Rocco Duffle bag for a few years but have always hesitated due to a few of my favorite bloggers having said it’s extremely heavy. I walk 30 minutes to and from work every day and usually I’m also carrying my yoga mat and lunch.
I've had my eye on the Alexander Wang Rocco Duffle bag for a few years but have always hesitated due to a few of my favorite bloggers having said it’s extremely heavy. I walk 30 minutes to and from work every day and usually I’m also carrying my yoga mat and lunch.
When I say the Rockie bag, the Rocco’s little brother, I
fell in love. It’s basically the same gorgeous design but on a smaller scale (without being a wimpy “little bag”). I love the pebbled leather and polished hardware. A box
pleat obscures 2 zip pockets at one side, and studs protect the bottom. The zip
top opens to a roomy, lined interior with 3 pockets. The detachable, adjustable
shoulder strap and rolled double handles offer easy transport.
I wanted a bright pointy toe shoe but didn't want to make a
large investment. I’m also totally conscious of comfort, there’s nothing worse
than a cute pair of shoes that make you limp around. I saw these beauties as
Zara, tried them on and fell in love. They are SO comfortable and the heel
height is totally wearable for day and night. I don’t see them on their website
anymore but I did see them in store over the weekend. I should note – these patterned
pants are from Forever21.
Christian Louboutin – Simple Pump 100mm
It’s every girls dream to own a pair of red soled lovelies. I
don’t know if I actually ever believed I would be able to buy my first pair.
They are a HUGE investment and unless you’re the daughter of wealthy parents,
it’s hard to justify the hefty price tag. A few of my friends have Louboutins, so
the first time I actually held a pair in my hands, I fell in love with the
simplicity of the design and the unparalleled craftsmanship. When they told me
horror stories of the havoc their loubs caused their feet, I swore I’d never
spend the money on something so evil.
A few weekends ago, I was walking on
Bloor Street when I saw a Louboutin display in a local shop window… I stopped,
stared, looked at my boyfriend and persuaded him to go in. This was something
we’d done at least 20 times before… me dreaming and drooling. I knew this time
was going to be different, I could feel it. I talked to the salesman about my
concerns regarding their notorious pain inflicting natural. He suggested I try
the simple pump in the 100 mm heel height. It was love at first step. The heel height
is practical while not looking dumpy and the sheen of the patent leather was seducing
me. “Do you have a 38.5?” I asked, but already knew the answer……. When told
there was a 3 month waiting list, I knew what I had to do. I ordered them on
the Louboutin website.
How did I finally convince myself to bite the bullet and buy
my first pair?
- 100mm heel height is practical and comfortable
- The classic almond shape toe will never go out of style and more comfortable than the pointy toe
- By opting for nude, I can wear them in the spring, summer and fall
- The patent leather is known to last longer than it’s nude leather sister, because it repels dirt and scratches
