A NEW YEAR

I'm not a huge believer in new year's resolutions. At least not the kind that make us feel bad about ourselves and forces us to look back at all the previous resolutions we didn't keep.

It's important to self reflect and acknowledge areas of our life where we can focus to improve the overall quality of our life. We only get one life on this planet and it's important to fill that life with joy, happiness and fulfillment.

My resolution for 2014 is to keep working on having a positive outlook. 2013 taught me that we all have a choice. We can be negative and miserable and focus on the areas of our lives that are going wrong. Or we can have gratitude and focus on all of the positive things in our lives. When we change our attitude and outlook, it actually changes the situation.

When we're grateful for all of the blessings in our life, those blessings are enriched and they multiply. When we focus only on the negative, we're doing more damage than we realize, we're actually attracting more negativity and causing negative experiences.
